Mercy Triumphs over Judgement
And you offered me my soul
In the name of all my weakness
In the name of rock ‘n roll
Cause they broke you I am whole
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
And you asked me what they’re for
I was building up a wall
And you offered me a door
But you handed me a sword
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
Love succumbs to hate
Life Himself is slain
Is death the only way?
Is death the only way?
Absolutely not a friend
I went looking for ways out
And you showed me the way in
And instead I found a man
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
Felt like giving up on life
I talked about your mother
And denied you once or twice
Put a sword into your side
Oh the wonderful of Jesus
By the blades of earthly swords
We cut the final cord
This is mercy’s war
It’s mercy’s war
When my world went up in flames
I saw my defenses
Washed my ashes down the drain
But you called me out by name
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
Couldn’t recognize you at first
And all I had to offer you
Was an insult or a curse
On the nauseated earth
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus
This is mercy’s war
Oh the wonderful blood of Jesus

You can have Los Angeles, but give me back my girl!
If only you knew how amazing tonight was. James Vincent McMorrow will leave you breathless with each soaring note. The first time he opened his mouth to sing I felt the chills. The Civil Wars were both engaging and intimate. They acted like brother and sister on stage, playing jokes on each other while performing. It was just pure vocal heaven. John Paul White can really sing, and Joy Williams has got some pipes! Next, I was off to see Fiction Family at the Bardot. It was a free show! When entering, I saw Michael Guy Chislett(?) just chilling with the bassist. He's the OG electric guitarist from Hillsong United Albums (Look To You, More than Life, Everyday). Anyway, Jon Foreman and Sean Watkins tore it up. The place was going nuts because each one of them had their own set of skills that was so unique. Jon played some new songs, but I was highly impressed with Sean's new tunes. He is a killer. He will capture you with his fast bluegrass guitar playing. UNBELIEVABLE. And what better way to end the night? A drum rampage from the Fiction Family drummer Aaron. That man always blows my mind. Darren King status.
Well that's what happened tonight folks! More to come next time...

"Oh the places you'll go!"
though the weather be foul
On you will go
though your enemies prowl
On you will go
though the Hakken-Kraks howl
Onward up many
a frightening creek,
though your arms may get sore
and your sneakers may leak.
On and on you will hike
and I know you'll hike far
and face up to your problems
whatever they are.
You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
So...
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O'Shea,
you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So...get on your way!" Dr. Seuss - Oh, the Places You'll Go
I am excited to meet people who are passionate. I am hopeful to develop relationships with people who have different interest. I am ready to step out of this bubble.
First step: be part of a dubstep remix. WAHOO!

Happy people make people happy
What will your anthem be?
Did we sing of rock and roll?
Did we sing if sacred souls?
Has the heart and the harmony met pleasingly?
When the flicker fades, it fades so fast
Nothing is left. What will be legacies?
Cause guitars burn you see
Recollect no memories
Of the lights and the cheers and the human vanity
Should I give?
Should I sing some rust?
Pity me for my golden lust
This one’s for the lily
And this one’s for the rose
Here it is, let the truth be told
Here it is, we would like to know
Here it is, what will the anthem be
What will your anthem be?
What will our anthem be?
What will the anthem be?"

The set list that will never end..
I've spent my whole life learning, growing, maturing, and experimenting at Grace church. So it's a pretty emotional process right now.
We are going to have some new songs, remixes with some R&B hip hop, heartfelt soaring moments, and intimate encounters with the Lord! That's what we want, an encounter with the living God. Because the more we see Jesus, the more we want to become like Him.
So if you're in the area, come to our College service at 2:30 PM. We have fun praising the Lord.
Alright time to take a break, going to go watch the new X-men movie.
Peace ya'll!!

I will make you fishers of my men?.. or His men?
I've started these train of thoughts and have decided to start writing them on here. I'd love to dialogue with anyone who is interested in the subject.
"I will make you fishers of (my) men..."
Interesting, right? Have you ever noticed when you enter into a church service everyone is sitting down just waiting around till someone gets onto a microphone and starts taking charge? Did it ever occur to you that people come to church expecting to be led? Even though every week they should know that we have come to church to worship God, right? But there is unwritten law that everyone obliges to the fact that they want to be led.
So it begs the question, how are we as worship leaders serving those around us?
Maybe a key in servant leadership is this idea of releasing others. If you look at our culture today, many if not most want to have any responsibility lifted off their shoulders. We rather have others make the decision, to tell us what to do with our lives - we can then get on and live it out. Sound familiar?
And so whenever we place all our hope in man, we will end up disappointed and hurt. God has blessed us with leaders to inspire, encourage, train, equip and mentor – but often we forget our ultimate master, leader and King is Jesus. He alone is enough. That's right He alone is enough.
We see this demonstrated powerfully with the people of Israel in the book of 1 Samuel 8. God’s chosen people, with whom he had made a unique covenant, start moaning and calling out for the prophet Samuel to appoint a king in Israel who will rule and reign over them. They've seen the other nations with dynamic and powerful kings, and now they want theirs. Someone to look to. Someone to take responsibility. They didn’t want to be a people of faith, who learnt to trust and obey. They wanted something instant and obvious.
What they didn't realize is that in doing so, they were rejecting God. He had been their King, but now for the people of Israel this wasn’t enough, they wanted an earthly king to lead them. This rejection of God had huge consequences for the Israelites.
So what does this mean for us as worship leaders? Firstly we mustn’t make the same mistake and look to others, before we look to the leading of God. We are a people of faith.
Secondly we should always be looking to release new leaders. Not just consolidating our own position of leadership but taking risks on investing and equipping young leaders. This takes time and energy, but for the sake of God’s Kingdom is vital. This is how we can sow into the Kingdom.
We also need to release people to take responsibility for their own worship. A danger in our consumer culture is that people can attend church with the attitude of ‘what am I going to get out of the service tonight?’ A bit like the people of Israel they turn up saying, ‘we want a king.’ ‘We want someone who will play the songs we like and give us a great time.’ We then exhaust ourselves trying to meet these expectations and demands.
Great worship leaders will find ways of gently encouraging a congregation to bring their own offering of worship. To come with a heart that will give. They cultivate congregations that will participate rather than become spectators. This can be done through teaching, through modeling, but perhaps ultimately by acting as servants. When we see our roles as that of serving and releasing others to engage in worship, then we will see God’s people empowered and that is one exciting prospect!
How exciting right!?

Death in his grave
On Sunday a King
Laid down in grief
But awoke with keys
Of Hell on that day
The first born of the slain
The Man Jesus Christ
Laid death in his grave
He has cheated
Hell and seated
Us above the fall
In desperate places
He paid our wages
One time once and for all
Holy
"Be holy, because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:16

set your sights on the horizon!
I remember reading a passage in the bible regarding change. In 1 Corinthians 4:16, apostle Paul talks about our days passing by and that outwardly it is being wasted away. But inwardly we have a shape that is being renewed day by day. God has really placed this upon my heart lately. The reason? I think the devil really entraps us in his snare with experiences in the past. If you grew up at the church, you would remember the "glory days." The glory days were the moments where you really felt God was moving amazingly and powerfully within your ministry or church.
I remember when i was in Junior High and i was jumping up and down without a care in the world. HEY I LOVE JESUS SO LET ME PRAISE HIM WITH EVERYTHING I GOT! I remember when there were miraculous healings going on throughout our high services. I remember leading praise in front of a group of 100 plus high school students at Revivals where we had anointed speakers come and impart to us the knowledge of the word. I remember being used by God in so many ways that one that was sixteen could not even imagine! I was so privileged and so honored to be able to do such things. I remember meeting so many awesome people and being connected to different people through music and ministry. God was really moving in my life! Those were the "glory days"...
But just as Paul says in his epistles, everything that he felt that he gained to himself was counted as loss for the sake of Christ (Phil. 2:7-9). What am i living for? Am i living for the sake of being used by God? Am i living so that i can mark my place in the book of history? Do i want to surpass my parents and learn from their mistakes? Am i just living off the fumes of the past experiences that i gained?
I am called to a sanctified living breathing human being to worship the God almighty all the days of my life. For this reason, and this reason alone i am excited for my future. I thank God for the past, but i am eternally grateful for the future that is set before me in heaven. I am headed heavenward, not looking back to the things i've gained from the past. I want to run forward and toward the greatest treasure ever: Jesus Himself!
So what if you don't experience so called "spirit to spirit" experiences everyday? Are you not Holy Spirit filled? Are demons causing this to happen? I've heard it all....
But i know even if i fall, i know that i am falling into the embrace of his grace. Even if not.... I am going to live like i never lived before.
Thank you for another breath.... another sun set.......
"and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator." Colossians 3:10
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." Romans 12:1-2
"So I commend the enjoyment of life, because nothing is better for a man under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany him in his work all the days of the life God has given him under the sun." Ecc. 8:15

Up Up and Away!
I recently went through my stash of songs that i wrote in high school. And i felt this one met the state of my heart. I recorded it once, but its pretty mediocre, maybe i'll get a second opinion and record a new demo. Well for now here are the lyrics!
"So long I'm off to sleep love I'm tired and weary From this time spent here
Lately I've been singing the same tunes
Singing the same blues till my life turned gray
I've been told the sun don't shine When it rains (x2)
Rain rain please go away Find another place to stay I need some time to pray
Rain the winds have changed The trouble you've made Has been washed away
And i started to sing, i started to sing The sun will shine Oh the sun will shine To drive the rain away The sun will shine Oh the sun will shine To bring another day
And i started to realize....Oh the sun still shines....The sun still shines....even when the rain comes to stay"
Thanks for reading@
